TK/Kindergarten Enrollment for the 2018-19 School Year

  • January 22, 2018: Online Enrollment opens (parents of current TK students do not need to complete the online enrollment application*)
  • January 23-26, 2018: New TK and kindergarten students with siblings at their resident school site - bring your online enrollment application summary and required documents to your resident school site. Current TK students - bring your required documents* to your resident school site (parents of current TK students do not need to complete the online enrollment application).
  • January 29 - February 16, 2018: All new TK and kindergarten students - bring your online enrollment summary and required documents to your resident school site. Current TK students - bring your required documents* to your resident school site (parents of current TK students do not need to complete the online enrollment application).
  • February 16, 2018Completed enrollment packages must be received and verified by February 16th in order to be included in a lottery should it be necessary at your resident school. Completed enrollment packages are received and verified at your resident school. Enrollment applications received after February 16, 2018 are received on a first come-first serve basis.

January PTA Association Meeting - Technology at Greenbrook!

 

Please join us for our next PTA Association Meeting on Thursday, January 25th, at 8:30 am in the MPR. Our featured topic will be Technology at Greenbrook, presented by our Principal, Rhea Murphy, and our District Technology Specialist, Angie Corritone. Have you ever wondered what technology your students are learning at Greenbrook? Then join us for this informative presentation which will cover the following topics - 

  • technology devices students are using at Greenbrook
  • common sense website & digital citizenship lessons for students
  • technology integration in the classrooms
  • address any questions you may have on this topic.

Our meeting will begin at 8:30 am and cover any necessary PTA business, and then at 9:00 am we will begin with the presentation. Don't miss this unique opportunity for an insiders view on what your students are learning everyday, as well as tips on navigating this digital road with your family.

Coding & Robotics with Spheros for 2nd & 3rd Graders

Imagineering Coding & Robotics with Spheros for 2nd & 3rd Graders starting 1/23/18 here at Greenbrook Elementary. It's a chance to discover how real-world robotics work through highly-engaging, playful objects.

Six Flags Read to Succeed

READ TO SUCCEED CHALLENGE ENDS JANUARY 31st!

 

Every Greenbrook student grades K-5 is invited to participate in the Six Flags 2017 Read to Succeed SIX HOUR READING CLUB to earn a free pass to one Six Flags Theme Park on select dates during the 2018 season! 

 

To participate, a student must read 6 hours (360 minutes) of recreational (not for an assignment or homework) reading by January 31st, 2018. 

 

An information handout and reading log has been sent home with your child.

  • Take the Journey to Health and get a chance to win prizes!
  • Lots of interactive booths from local businesses and organizations promoting healthy lifestyle choices for the whole family.
  • On stage demonstrations and tutorials of lots of fun ways to stay active

Welcoming student booths (individual and group) this year! Educate your peers about healthy lifestyle choices. Booths can be a presentation board, an activity, or anything you want to show or do!

2/5 - 2/9: Words Matter Week

Words Matter Week at Greenbrook

KINDNESS ROCKS

Writing Contest Guidelines

  • For “Words Matter Week 2018,” students will have the opportunity to write one to three words on rocks to celebrate kindness, inclusion, and diversity. Students will be encouraged to leave these rocks in their communities to share their messages. The writing contest poses the question, “Why did you choose the words for your rock, and why?” Please emphasize personal experiences or meaning for you.
  • Essay must be 150 words or less.
  • TK and Kindergarten students are encouraged to draw as an alternative to writing 150 words.
  • Submissions are due January 31st, by the end of the school day and can be turned into the main office.
  • Winners will be selected by 5th graders; 5th grade submissions will be reviewed by PTA representatives. Winners will be announced on Friday, February 2, 2018.
  • Winners will have the opportunity to read their writing to the school or have Mrs. Murphy read their selection during Words Matter Week (February 5-9, 2018). Selections chosen will also be shared with parents.

  • Your submission must have your name written on the BACK and grade on the FRONT of your submission so that we may fairly review all submissions.
